Mangaluru: “The Congress is all set to fight the upcoming elections and we will win all 8 seats in Dakshina Kannada,” said Minister Ramanath Rai, addressing a press meet at the Congress Bhavan here on April 24.
“There are no differences within the party over the selection of candidates. We are all together and will fight the elections against the communal politics of the opposition. We are the only and the biggest secular party in India and I request all the people of DK to vote the Congress back to power to fight against communalism and uphold secularism,” he said adding that this election will set the pace for national politics. “All eyes are on Karnataka. DK has got a lot of developmental projects from the state government. Highest number of 94C beneficiaries are from DK. So, we are sure that we will win all the 8 seats here,” he reiterated.
On questions about the Youth Congress and NSUI’s recent resignation, he said that they have not received any resignations. “We all are united and will work for the success of the party,” he assured.
On Nalin Kumar Kateel’s recent statement that Rai will be rested soon, He said that BJP cadres themselves will rest Nalin soon as in the DK district the BJP is a divided house.
On April 27, AICC President Rahul Gandhi will visit the district and will address a public gathering in Bantwal. He will proceed to Dharmasthala soon after and offer prayers at the Dharmasthala Temple.
The Congress State Election Manifesto will be released soon. It is said to have a lot visions for coastal Karnataka.
