Bantwal: Vehicular traffic on the Mani-Mysuru state highway came to a standstill after a container lorry rammed into the barrier placed near Kauettilu near Kabaka in Puttur on Wednesday, February 7.
Owing to the repair works being carried out at Shiradi ghat, most of the commuters travelling between Mangaluru-Bengaluru take this route. However the accident has disrupted the two-way traffic as also rail services have been suspended temporarily. The same will resume only after officials ascertain any damage to the rail tracks and carry out repairs, it is gathered.
Meanwhile. the police have visited the spot and efforts are on to clear the traffic.
