Mangaluru: As many as eight people from the Dakshina Kannada district tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, June 17.
With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the district has risen to 376. Of the eight people, five are secondary contacts of Patients who were previously identified and two are Dubai returnees. One had recently returned from Mumbai.
Meanwhile, a 50-year-old COVID patient was discharged from the Wenlock Hospital after recovering from the disease. With this, the total number of discharges has risen to 170.
There are currently 209 active COVID-19 cases in the district, two of whom are aged 70 and 60 and are being treated in the ICU as they are suffering from other health issues as well.
A total of six persons have succumbed to the disease in the Dakshina Kannada district so far and two patients died of non-COVID causes.
