Mangaluru: The reports of all 101 throat swabs which were sent for testing from the Dakshina Kannada district, came back negative for COVID-19 on Tuesday, April 28.
Meanwhile, 297 throat swabs were sent for testing today. As on April 28, a total of 2,057 samples have been sent for testing from the district, out of which 21 samples tested positive and 2036 tested negative.
Of the 21 positive cases, two succumbed to the disease and 12 have been discharged after making a full recovery. Seven persons are still receiving treatment at the Wenlock Hospital.
Of the seven active cases of COVID-19, the condition of a 67-year-old woman is critical and she is being treated in the ICU.
It can be also noted that among the 21 persons who tested positive for COVID-19, 15 persons are from the Dakshina Kannada district, four are from Kerala, one person each is from Bhatkal and the Udupi district. All outsiders were discharged from the hospital after recovering from the disease.
