Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has ordered for the closure of liquor bars and wine shops in places where the Sharada idol immersion procession will take place, from October 3 to October 13.
In a press release, the DC informed that several temples in the Dakshina Kannada district are holding both religious and cultural events as part of the Dasara festival. The order has been issued in order to maintain law and order and to prevent any untoward incidents, as thousands of people, including women and children, will be attending these events.
