Delay in opening Medical College; Association threatens bandh

Kasaragod: An association has threatened to protest against the delay in opening a Medical college in Kasaragod.
Two years ago, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had laid the foundation for the medical college in Ukkinadka near Badiyadka in Kasaragod. But reportedly, the work has not even started on the project. The association has blamed the state government for the delay.

Officials from the association said that there are outsiders who are hindering the progress of the project and not letting the college come up in Kasaragod. Apparently all other districts where the foundation was laid have begun the work on their medical colleges and Kasaragod is being neglected.

The association has decided to call for a bandh on December 14 during the Chief Minister’s visit to the district.
