Mangaluru: Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade has informed that the Mahamasthakabhisheka of Bhagavan Bahubali statue in Dharmasthala will be held in February 2019. Dr. Heggade is also the founder of the 39-foot monolithic Bahubali statue, which weighs 170 tonnes.
Veerendra Heggade shared the information on the occasion of anointment of the feet of Gommateshwara with 216 Kalashas on the occasion of 36th foundation anniversary of the statue here at the top of Rathnagiri in Dharmasthala on Saturday.
“The procedures will be led by Acharya Vardhamana Sagarji Muni Maharaj and in the presence of Shri Charukeerti Bhattaraka Swamiji of Shravanabelagola. We are already prepared mentally for the big occasion,” Heggade said.
He was happy as the Rathnagiri, which was a dense forest around 36 years ago, turned into a holy religious place as predicted by the popular astrologist Shashikanth Jain of Bengaluru.
