Mangaluru: Bus conductor not giving you a ticket? No problem! You can commute on that bus for free! Such is the permission granted by Mangaluru City Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha during the weekly phone-in programme held at his office on Friday, October 4.
It is very common that private bus conductors deny passengers tickets, despite being strictly directed by the police department not to do so. So far, however, this direction has been largely disregarded. When a caller complained about not getting a bus ticket, Dr P S Harsha asked the public not to pay money to the conductor if they do not receive a ticket.
He instructed the public to pay the bus conductors only after they receive a ticket. He also asked the public to contact the WhatsApp number 7996999977, if a bus conductor denies them a ticket or for any issue relating to private buses.
Meanwhile, the compol warned that strict action will be taken against the buses using shrill horns and those who sell such horns.
