? DVS launches India Post Payments Bank in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation D V Sadananda Gowda launched the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) in Mangaluru here at Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall on Saturday, September 1.

Addressing the gathering, D V Sadananda Gowda said, “India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) is the largest payments bank in the country in terms of network size. IPPB will focus on providing banking and financial services to the rural people in India. IPPB will provide services such as savings and money transfers, current accounts, direct benefit transfers, bill and utility payments to the people.”

“Today nearly 650 branches and 3250 access points of IPPB have been launched across the country. The government will open 1.5 Lakh access points throughout the country by the next six months”, he added.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, post office senior officers Rajendra Kumar and Jagadish were present in the programme.
