Mangaluru: Following the controversy involving Mayor Kavitha Sanil and her apartment watchman’s wife, the accuser along with her husband and children have vanished.
The accuser, Kamala, had filed a case against the Mayor accusing her of assault following which, the Mayor filed a counter case alleging that Kamala had threatened her daughter’s life.
The police investigating the cases filed by each of the parties, have stated that Kamala and her family have been absconding for the past three days and their phones are switched off. The basement in which the family stayed was found locked with a police notice stuck on the door. The notice was from the women’s police station which required Kamala for the investigation based on the complaint registered by her on October 27 under IPC sections 323, 504 and 506.
The apartment building association had appointed a new guard in Kamala’s husband’s place three days ago.
The Mayor has claimed that they family has not gone underground, but have been hidden by the BJP out of fear that the truth of the whole controversy might come to light.
