Mangaluru: A pedestrian tragically loses life after being struck by a private bus at Rao & Rao Circle near the State Bank of India on Monday.
The private bus with the number 54, headed to Huhakuva Kallu in Konaje, was turning near Rao & Rao Circle. At this moment, a person was crossing the road. As the bus approached directly, the individual fell beneath the front wheel and tragically lost life.
The man sustained fatal head injuries, and he tragically lost his life at the accident scene. His face was also severely damaged, making unrecognizable. This unfortunate incident resulted from the bus driver’s careless driving, leading the Pandeshwar police to file a case under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), equivalent to a homicide charge. Subsequently, the bus driver was apprehended by the authorities.
Authorities have requested that individuals with any information or concerns about the unidentified man, believed to be between 40-42 years old, contact the Pandeshwar police station for assistance in his identification. The deceased’s body is currently in the care of Wenlock Hospital.
