Fish merchant in M’luru looted off Rs 2 lakh

Mangaluru: A 47-year-old fish merchant was robbed of Rs. 2 lakh in cash near Netravathi Bridge, Ullal in the outskirts of the City here on the morning of Saturday, March 5.

The man has been identified as Mustafa, a resident of Mukkacheri. He has been seriously injured and was admitted to Netaji hospital by a passerby.

Mustafa was going to the City to purchase fish on his tempo when he was assaulted by miscreants, who then stole Rs. 2 lakh cash that was in the tempo’s dashboard brandishing knife. When Mustafa resisted he injured his hands.

The Kankanady police has registered a case and the investigation is on.
