Mangaluru: Former MLA Krishna Palemar on January 5, denied allegations made by MLA Moideen Bava on BJP’s role in Deepak Rao’s murder case and said that CBI or NIA should probe Bava in connection to this murder to reveal the truth. Mangaluru North MLA B A Moideen Bava on January 4 had alleged that Deepak Rao’s murder accused Pinky Nawaz’s elder brother was a BJP party worker in Kaatipalla and his brother-in law was a BJP activist in Kapu.
Addressing a press meet in BJP office here, Palemar said that the MLA was misleading the people with false information. “And the MLA is making such baseless allegations against BJP and its a tactic to win the elections. There is no development in his constituency since four years. Due to the interference of MLA in police affairs, illegal activities in his constituency has increased”, he alleged.
“The police brought the mortal remains of Deepak Rao through the back door of the hospital and handed over to the family which is an insult to the humanity and the victim’s kin. Congress government is responsible for this”, Palemar added.
He further said, “Contradictory to Bava’s claims that there is no black mark in the four years of his administration, we have seen rampant cattle theft and violence being reported in his constituency.”
BJP leaders also warned of holding a protest against MLA, in front of his residence, against his “baseless” allegations.
BJP’s State OBC Morcha leader Sathyajith Surthkal, Umanath Kotian, Dr. Y Bharath Shetty and others were present in the press meet.
