On Sunday, personnel from the Kankanady city police station apprehended four individuals on charges of stealing cows and slaughtering them, shedding light on a heinous crime in the area.
The arrested suspects identified as Badruddin (65), G Abdul Majid (43), Khaleel (35), and Mohammed (56) hail from various localities including Kannur Kundala and Harekala. Investigations revealed that Majid, Mohammed, Khaleel, Ansar, and others were involved in the sale of slaughtered cows, allegedly carried out at Badruddin’s residence.
A raid conducted by law enforcement at Badruddin’s house resulted in the seizure of the cow carcasses and equipment used in the slaughtering process, valued at Rs 32,850. Despite the swift action, authorities are currently on the lookout for the five accused who managed to evade arrest.
