BoB Inaugurates Fruit Sapling Program to Prevent Global Warming

Mangaluru: Green environment saving fruit plantation program to prevent global warming on behalf of Bank of Baroda.

With the goal of creating a greener world and ensuring a bright future to mitigate the impacts of rising temperatures, a fruit tree planting and conservation program was organized in colleges and schools around Mangalore, initiated by the Bank of Baroda. Ramesh Kanade, Deputy General Manager and Deputy Zonal Head, along with DGM Ashwini Kumar, inaugurated the sapling program by handing over fruit trees.

This initiative is aimed at preventing the escalation of temperatures and safeguarding the environment for future generations. School students were urged to champion environmental protection to ensure that our future children can enjoy the benefits of fruits, trees, and shade through the preservation of fruit trees.

Under the initiative, Mangaluru Zone Bank has planted 400 plants and has a plan for planting for 3500 plants across the Zone which has 22 districts.

Various educational institutions, including First Grade College in Kavur, Backward Class Hostel in Nanthur, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat High School in Pavoor, and Uchila Someswara, Parijnana Vidyalaya Someshwara, actively participated by planting a variety of fruit trees on their premises.

The event witnessed the presence of Bank of Baroda officers, namely Rakesh Jha, Adrich Ajay D’Souza, and Sanjay, as well as principals of the respective schools and colleges. Additionally, Sachin Hegde from Vijaya Gramina Development Foundation and Jeevan Kolya from Bharatiya Vikasa Trust Manipal also attended the program.

This collaborative effort aims to contribute to a sustainable and eco-friendly environment, aligning with the Bank of Baroda’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
