Mangaluru: GAIL Gas strengthens the supply network of green energy for vehicle with commissioning of one more CNG Stations in Dakshina Kannada Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Station at HPCL Vijay Fuels, Surathkal,

GAIL Gas Limited (GGL), a major city gas distribution (CGD) company, today commenced the operation of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Station at HPCL Vijay Fuels, Surathkal, Mangaluru by R. K Jain, Director (Finance), GAIL (India) Limited and Director, GAIL Gas Limited. Ajay Tripathi Executive Director GAIL (India) Limited, Hirdesh Kumar, Chief General Manager & Officer- In-charge, GAIL Gas Bengaluru, Sai Sankar B, GM( CGD), Officer- In-charge – GAIL Gas Mangaluru, Pankaj Gupta, Chief Financial Officer, GAIL Gas along with other Officers from GAIL Gas and HPCL were present in this occasion.

This 22nd CNG Station, the first Online CNG Station in OMC RO in Dakshina Kannada, will strengthen the supply network of the green energy and will facilitate city dwellers in refilling the vehicles with uninterrupted 24 X 7 CNG supply.

The CNG Station can serve more than 1000 small vehicles, LCVs and Buses & Trucks in a single day. The CNG Station is located in Surathkal area beside the National Highway – 66, Panvel – Kanyakumari route (covering vehicular traffic moving into Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala states) which will also encourage long distance journey on CNG.

With the commissioning of CNG operations at the said CNG outlet, GAIL Gas is operating at 22 CNG outlets in Dakshina Kannada Geographical area. The availability of CNG at various locations will help in strengthening the CNG supply all around Dakshina Kannada district and will encourage people to convert their vehicles on CNG which controls pollution levels being an eco-friendly fuel.

GAIL Gas is steadfast in its commitment to enhancing the CGD Network in next 8 years, with plans to establish 100 CNG stations across the district. Soon, the convenience of CNG will extend to areas like Mangladevi, Kanyana Village (Bantawal), Kadanjebettu, Puttur, Nelliyadi, Ullal, Talapady near Karnataka-Kerala Border etc.
