Mangaluru: Bijai-Kapikad is now home to “Edi”, an unconventional clothing store owned by Gana Bhat. The inauguration ceremony took place at Guru Dutt’s Ajanta Business Centre and was officiated by Damodar Bhat, the father of Gana Bhat.
During the event, friends of Gana Bhat, including Tulu film actors Arjun Kapikad and Sharan Chilimbi of Power House Wines fame, extended their best wishes for the success of the new store.
Addressing the gathering, Vedavyas Kamath, the MLA of Mangaluru South assembly constituency, remarked, ‘Mangaluru, in its developmental journey, witnesses the introduction of new designs into the market today. As we strive to comprehend the needs and aspirations of the people, our efforts to think, implement, and achieve success are ongoing. Concluding the event, Damodar Bhat, shared that initially, their daughter expressed keen interest in the cinema field. However, they were not supportive of it. They didn’t want her to exploit her body for financial gain. Despite their concerns, she took on the role of the female lead in the film, providing them with some comfort as it didn’t involve explicit body exposure. Presently, her interest lies in the business sector, and she has dedicated significant effort to reach this point.
