Mangaluru: The Mangaluru North sub-division Anti-Rowdy Squad and Panambur police arrested a ganja peddler and seized 1.280 kg stash from his possession on Friday, March 29.
The arrested has been identified as Azeez alias Mohammed Azeez alias Swamy Azeez (43), son of Abdul Rahman, a resident of Kasba Bengre. The accused was allegedly indulged in peddling ganja to the lorry drivers at Thannirbavi and other surrounding areas. Based on a credible information, a team of police from Anti-Rowdy Squad and Panambur police rushed to Thannirbavi and nabbed the accused. They also seized 1.280 kg of ganja whose value is estimated at Rs 25,000 from him.
Police sources informed that his wife was also involved in ganja peddling and cases are pending against both of them in Panambur and Coastal Security Police station.
