K R Nagar: A government cheque issued by the Town Municipality has bounced here recently.
The Municipal Commissioner had given a pay cheque of Rs 8,000 to K R Srinivas. The cheque bearing the number 072450 from Municipal account no. 134501011001684 of Vijaya Bank, dated March 22, was given to Srinivas, who deposited it on March 27, but it bounced.
On questioning, the commissioner admitted that there was no enough balance in the account. Reportedly, he has also assured that he would pay the due amount as soon as possible.
