Mangaluru: Dr H N Gopalkrishna, an KAS officer of the 1998 batch who was appointed as the new commissioner of MCC on August 5, took charge at his office here on Friday.
He has served as the muncipal commissioner of Hassan and assistant commissioner in Mysuru and Vijaypura. He was the project director of DUB in Shivamogga and assistant deputy commissioner in Hassan district too.
The State government had announced new transfers and the appointment of 49 officers on August 5.
The post of commissioner was vacant since two months, after Hepsiba Rani Koralpati was transferred to Vijayapura in June this year. Korlapatti happened to be the third MCC Commissioner to be transferred in one year.
