Belthangady: A head teacher of a school lost his life in a hit-and-run case that took place at Gurvayanakere on Tuesday morning.
The deceased is Dinakar Hegde (48), a head teacher of a government school. It is said that Hegde was on his morning walk when a bus with school children on board, from Kolar ran over him. Hegde died on the spot. While the bus fled the spot, the police could trace the same bus to Malpe.
It is said that reckless driving by the bus driver caused the mishap. School students on educational tour were travelling in the bus.
