Mangaluru: The High Court has provided a unique opportunity for an eight-and-a-half-month pregnant lawyer to take the written examination for a judge’s position. This marks the first instance of such an opportunity being granted, and the court’s decision has garnered praise from many.
Chief Justice Prasanna Balachandra Varale has granted permission to advocate Nethra to participate in the main examination scheduled for November 18 and 19 at the district court in Dakshina Kannada. Netravati, who successfully passed the preliminary examination, is currently eight-and-a-half months pregnant, making travel difficult due to her sensitive health condition. In seeking permission to write the exam at the district court in Dakshina Kannada, she approached the Karnataka High Court.
