Mangaluru: Hundreds of dead fish were washed ashore at Sasihithlu beach on Saturday morning. The sea water too has reportedly turned black.
Locals have blamed a fish meal company to be the reason behind this disaster. It is said that the company is releasing certain effluents into the Arabian Sea which is turning the water into black in color. The water is not only black, but smells terrible as well.
While private public partnership is helping in keeping beaches clean and improving tourism in the city, the local fish meal company has polluted the beach. An international surfing festival took place at the beach in May earlier this year.
