Mangaluru: Inspiron Toastmasters inducted new board members of Toastmasters international club. ‘Embracing our imperfection and improving consistently’ was a thought-provoking message delivered by incoming president TM Roel Dsouza in his presidential address.
Kadri Pethi, DTM, was the chief guest and keynote speaker for the event. Kadri Pethi, DTM, is world champion in the tape a tale contest held by Toastmaster International (USA), CEO of Astrid Microsystems and Listed in the Hall Of Fame, Toastmasters, (USA). He spoke about ‘The art and craft about storytelling’ and gave meaningful insights behind the secrets of storytelling. He also spoke about how to captivate audience attention through storytelling and how storytelling can impact their lives.
The programme began with the invocation by TM Calvin. TM Ashritha welcomed the guests for the installation ceremony which was themed “Phoenix”. TM Jeevan Bharath transported everyone down the lane through a creative video of the previous year and club achievement.
The outgoing president thanked everyone for the contribution of members, especially TM Amith Ananda, Bharathi Shevgoor, DTM; and Veera Katpatia, DTM.
The fun activity was conducted by TM Izzuddin Ethaf to entertain the audience.
Area director TM Lyra Pinto introduced by TM Suman Mascarenhas administered the oath to the new board members comprising of TM Roel Dsouza ( President ), TM Larson Monteiro ( Vice President Education), TM Sandhya Bhat ( Vice President Membership), TM Mythili Ranjan ( Vice President Public Relation ), TM Suman Mascarenhas (Secretary), TM Jeevan Bharath ( Treasurer), TM Supriya Christhabell ( Sergeant at Arms) and TM Fiona Moras (Immediate Past President).
Division director of Division L TM Amith Ananda was introduced by TM Srinivas Pai.TM Amith Ananda delivered his first-ever Division director address in his home club Inspiron Toastmasters. He has been an instrumental leader for the growth of Inspiron Club. He dazzled his audience with a unique leadership story with an important message to board members. He stressed his vision for the growth of his Division and making an impact and changing the lives of underprivileged children through the YLP (Youth Leadership Programme) of Toastmasters international.
TM Roel Dsouza thanked his mentors Divyashree Gatti, Jyothika Shetty, Malini hebbar, Bharathi Shevgoor, Niveditha Mirajkar , Urmila Shetty , Flexon , Kadri Pethi, koka prasad , Lancy Dsouza and Amith Ananda in his presidential address. He introduced his incoming team and echoed the vision of Division Director of Division L TM Amith Anada of impacting the lives of underprivileged children through the YLP (Youth Leadership Programme) of toastmasters international. He announced initiatives lead by TM Mythili Rajan in PR. TM Roel Dsouza shared his vision of seeing a “World champion of public speaking” a prestigious public speaking championship contest held by Toastmasters international, in Mangalore. He ended his presidential address with an inspiring story that touched upon the “Illusion of perfection” and why a person shouldn’t wait for the perfect time to work on their dreams.
In the end Vote of thanks was delivered by TM Larson Monteiro.
