Mangaluru: “It is impossible to repay the land, cow, river and a mother, for the kind of nurturing and care that they give to us”, said Pontiff of Kashi Matt, Shree Samyamindra Thirtha Swamiji here on Sunday, May 12.
Addressing the children in a four-day summer camp organized by ‘Youth of GSB’ at Sanganikethan, he said, “Like a mother does not expect anything from her child, the land, cow and river nurture us without any expectations.”
“The river will not drink its own water but nurture plants and trees. Trees won’t eat their own fruit and cows won’t drink their own milk. Likewise, mother too toils hard to nurture her child without any expectation. Children should not forget the amount of sacrifice their mothers do”, he added.
Samyamindra Theertha said, “Whatever you will learn from this summer camp, try and inculcate it in your life and help the GSB community reach the zenith.”
The summer camp was organised from May 9 to 12, in which children, not only from Dakshina Kannada and different parts of the state, but also from various states like Maharashtra and Kerala, participated.
About 165 children were given training in Yoga, personality development, Vedas, Sandhya Vandhane, moral science and many other streams.
The participants were handed over certificates.
Chartered Accountant Jaganath Shenoy welcomed the gathering. Sudhakar Bhat gave the introductory speech.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, organisers Yogish Kamath, Chetan Kamath, Naresh Prabhu, Hanumanth Kamath, Gopalkrishna Bhat and others guests including parents were present.
