Mangaluru: Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader has said that a Joint Parliamentary Committee must be formed to probe Rafale deal.

Speaking to the reporters on Tuesday, December 25 at Circuit House, Khader said, “central government filed a false affidavit in the Supreme Court, which has caused clean chit to Modi government in Rafale deal. As MPs from all political parties would be in Joint Parliamentary Committee, furnishing false documents would be a difficult task. Hence, immediate measures should be taken to constitute Joint Parliamentary Committee to probe Rafale deal”, he stressed.

Coming down heavily on opposition party BJP in state, Khader said, “though 10-day winter session at Belagavi succeeded in addressing all major problems, the opposition party BJP disturbed the last two days of the session, raking up silly issues. Taking the issues of Tippu Jayanthi and Wakf Board, the BJP has ruined the discussion. People would teach a befitting lesson to the BJP in the next election”, he said.

Cash award to the journalists who participated in ‘Grama Vastavya’ programme

Meanwhile, minister Khader presented a cash award of Rs 5000 each to all six journalists who stayed at Kuthlur village in Beltangady taluk during their Grama Vastavya (village stay) recently, through Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association President Srinivas Indaje. Khader also informed that all necessary measures will be taken to address the basic problems of Kuthlur village.

After receiving the cash award Srinivas Indaje announced that the cash award will be utilised for the development of Kuthluru government school.
