Mangaluru: Kannada movie “Pencil Box”, produced under the banner of Drishya Movies, is all set to release on November 29.
‘Suvarna Dance Dance Junior’ and ‘Bharjari Comedy’ fame child artist Deeksha D Rai plays the lead role in this movie, along with Coastalwood actors Aravind Bolar and Bhojaraj Vamanjoor. While Aravind Bolar plays a Kannada teacher, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor plays a PT teacher in the film directed by Razak Puttur.
Producer Dayanand S Rai told mediapersons here on Tuesday, November 26, that though the story of the film surrounds the activities of children, however, it is not a complete children’s movie. “There is a general notion among parents that if their children study in English medium schools, they are more prominent and have a bright future. This movie sends a strong message that the medium of instruction is not as important as how the children study in their school,” he said.
This is Deeksha Rai’s first big-screen movie, although she has already gained fame through reality shows. “I enjoyed the shoot and I am eagerly waiting for the movie’s release. Even though I was a little nervous while acting with stalwarts like Bolar and Vamanjoor, I enjoyed their comedy dialogues,” she added.
Pontiff of the Odiyoor Mutt, Shri Gurudevananda Swamiji has already released the audio of the movie and the poster was released by Dharmastala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade. Both blessed the film and prayed for the success of the team and expressed their pleasure with the storyline. The three songs of the movie are also doing well on YouTube.
Director Razak Puttur, actors Santhosh Kolya and Ramesh Rai Kukkuvalli were present.
