Mangaluru: A ten-day annual Karavali Utsav, which is organized by Dakshina Kannada district administration, will be held from December 22 to 31 at an estimated cost of Rs 60 lakhs.
Addressing the press meet in DC office, district -in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai said that various cultural and art events will be held in the city. On December 31, valedictory of Karavali Utsav will be held at Panambur Beach at around 5:30 pm.
He said that Karavali Honorary Award will be conferred and at present Karvali Utsav committee is in the process of scrutinizing the awardee list.
Later, ADC Kumar, briefing about the Karavali Utsav, said that the Utsav will be held in three places, that is in Karavali Ustav ground, Kadri Park and Panambur Beach with various cultural and art programmes by eminent national artists.
“Well-known film actor Prakash Raj will inaugurate Karavali Utsav on December 22, at 6:00 pm. District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai will inaugurate the Karavali Utsav exhibition at around 5:30pm in Karavali Utsav ground. State minister for Food and Civil supplies UT Khader will inaugurate the procession from Nehru Maidan to Karavali Utsav at around 3:30pm.” he said.
In ten days of Karavali Utsav, there will be cultural programme in Karavali Utsava ground , Kadri Park and Panambur Beach at around 6:00pm.
State minister UT Khader, Deputy Commissioner sasikanth Senthil, MLA Shakuntha Shetty and others were present.
