Mangaluru: Everyone loves the sight of a kite being led from a thread and sent high into the sky. And so, here is an event that is open to all, irrespective of background and age, when the Tannirbavi sky is going to present its audience with a beautiful canopy of interesting and colorful kites in innovative designs.
Kite lovers can book their dates for the 10th of February, to see kites flying on the dot of three. The event, organized by Team Mangalore, with the support of the ONGC-MRPL, is all set with flyers from over the world coming to showcase their talent here.
Flyers from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Ukraine, EStonia, Sweden and Greece will all be here with their kites.
The event is going to have Indian flyers too, 22 of them from different corners of the nation, like Gujarat, Kerala, Telangana and our very own Team Mangalore, that everyone is now looking forward to. The team which was founded in 1998, now stands eligible to be a part of the event with its 12 skilled kite flyers.
In fact, B Sarvesh Rao, founder of Team Mangalore made a special mention of the night flying of kites, which will take place from seven to eight.
This is the fifth International kite festival that Mangalore is seeing, the first one safely escaping the 2020 lockdown gathering a crowd of one lakh people. This year, the event is said to take place for two days so as to ease the pressure of crowds, which are only growing by the years, with the opening of the event.
In the end, one cannot fail to give a word of credit to Dinesh Holla, a member of Team Mangalore, and the man behind all the colorful designs that the entire beach will see over the skies.
We have the other members of the team too to thanks, for all their efforts in popularizing the event
