Moodbidri: A 48-year-old woman has lodged a police complaint against Moodbidri MLA and former minister Abhaychandra Jain after she reportedly was hit by a car in which he was travelling.
In her complaint, Zain Abba, a resident of K T Nagar mentioned that she was hit by a car near old petrol pump here while she was returning from a relative’s place. When she tried to confront the persons, she was reportedly pushed and asked to walk away by a man who she has identified as MLA Abhaychandra Jain. Further she said that when she mentioned of filing a police complaint Jain said that he will take care of it.
Jain when contacted by Newskarnataka, mentioned that contrary to the lady’s allegations she was rubbed by the side mirror and not hit by the car as she claimed.
“I however, got down from the car to check if she was hurt and even apologised to her. The lady, however, created a ruckus at the scene and since I had to attend a programme I had to leave the spot. I regret not having intimated the police immediately,” he said.
A case has been filed in this regards under IPC section 279,323 and 337 at Bajpe police station.
