Mangaluru: As part of the ongoing efforts to send relief materials to the rain-hit Madikeri, the Bishop of Mangalore, Diocese Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza blessed the donation centre set up by the Cloth Bank and Rotary District 3181 to collect new clothes on Monday, August 20.
The centre, established near the Bishop’s house in the city, will collect new clothes for the victims of the flood in Madikeri from donors. Governor of Rotary District 3181 Raymond D’Cunha informed that the newly set cloth centre will run for 10 days. The general public can donate clothes for flood victims.
“The collected clothes will be sent to the Rotary Club Mist Hill and Madikeri Rotary Club. Rotary volunteers along with Karwar Womens’ and Child Fund, Padi Mangaluru Deeds Institution will identify the victims in Madikeri and distribute the clothes for the needy,” he added.
Raymond also informed that the first donor, owner of Pinky Fashion Wears had donated clothes worth Rs 10,000 for women.
