Mangaluru: Looks like those residing in the low lying regions of Mangalore need to line up their buckets filled with water as the city will be disrupting its water supply system for a while. 

So, all those depending on the Thumb-Bendoorwell-Panambur water supply will have to be ready with their buckets on the morning of February 6th, right from 6 am to be prepared for the next 24 hours. 

Water will then be available only on the 7th of February at 6 am. This is mainly to make way for a bulk plough meter that the Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) will install in the Vyasa pipe in Bendoorwell. 

We hope things go well and everything gets done on time as the 1000 water supply is what the people of the town depend on for their daily needs. Till then, let’s cooperate with the Mangalore Municipal Corporation that has scheduled this development with the view of improving the source of supply to those in the city. 

The Corporation does share its concern about the inconvenience this is going to cause to some of the major areas in the city like PVS, Ladyhill, Maryhill, Pacchanadi, Ashokanagar, Derebail, Kodialbail, Kadri, Naguri, Surathkal, Katipalla, Kulur, Jalligudde, Kodikal (partially), Kana, Kulai, Mukka, Panambur, and others.

From this, we can see that the list is pretty long, giving the authorities enough reason to be concerned, but then, it’s only for a day, with an aim of providing water more efficiently to all residing in these areas of the city.
