Mangaluru: The identity of the man behind the mysterious explosion on Saturday November 19 in an autorickshaw near Nagauri in Mangaluru has finally been ascertained.

An autorickshaw passenger, who was allegedly carrying a cooker bomb, was injured in the blast. Police had summoned his family members to Mangaluru on the suspicion that he was Sharique, a resident of Theerthahalli in Shivamogga District. At present, several details are available about him, which shows his suspected link with ISIS.

Sources said Sharique is a suspected terrorist who is supposedly influenced by ISIS. He had used several fake Aadhaar cards. The accused, Sharique, was also staying in Coimbatore using a fake Aadhaar Card. There were 5 bags of bomb-making material in his room in Mysore. There are reports that he was making bombs. The Mysuru room owner has been taken into custody by the Police. The suspected terrorist, Shariqu’s photograph with a cooker bomb has surfaced and there is a large-scale conspiracy behind him. What was his plan? Who is the mastermind could be revealed soon.

Two years ago, a wall of an apartment under Kadri Police Station limits in Mangaluru had graffitis in favour of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Sharique was arrested along with Maj Muneer in the case. Sharique, who was arrested in that case, is the only accused in today’s bomb blast case and is injured. He is undergoing treatment at a hospital in the City.

Meanwhile, the police raided four houses in Theerthahalli belonging to Sharique after it was prima facie established that he was behind the Mangaluru auto blast. Sharique’s face is swollen and nearly 40 per cent of his body has been burnt. It is learnt that he is not in a position to speak at the moment. During preliminary investigation, the Police identified the suspected terrorist as Sharique. Following this, Sharique’s relatives were called to Mangaluru from Shivamogga.
