Mangaluru: MLA Harish Poonja said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been faithfully working towards delivering many Government schemes to the people. He said in the last four-and-a-half years in Belthangady Taluk, we have contributed Rs. 3.5 Crore for the upliftment of the backward classes as well as the development of casteless and non-party communities.
He was speaking at a Scheduled Caste Convention organised by the Dakshina Kannada District Bharatiya Janata Party S. C Morcha at Guruvayanakere Kinyamma Auditorium in Belthangady on Monday March 20. “The Congress party has been running caste politics in the name of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, who made a great contribution to the Country. But today, as desired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is a real task to trace the life span of Ambedkar at every stage. Belthangady Taluk has been allocated Rs. 7 Crore to set an example for the Country,” he said.
He added that the construction of model Ambedkar Bhavan under the grant would be completed within a year.
