Mangaluru: A bike rider, who was a student died on the spot as a result of a collision with a private bus bike at Handelu, Todari on the Mangaluru Karkala National Highway on the evening of Monday June 5.
Karthik Acharya (19), son of Chandrahasa Acharya of Rajeshwari Jewellers, the first BCA student of Alva’s College is the deceased.
A student of the same college named Harsha escaped with minor injuries. Karthik was going home on his bike after finishing the college.
At this time, a private express bus coming from Mangaluru to Moodabidri moved to the extreme right while overtaking another bus and collided with the bike. Karthik was wearing a helmet but due to the speed and careless driving of the bus driver, an innocent life was lost.
Moodabidri Police has registered a case against the bus driver.
