Mangaluru: As the countdown for the Assembly Elections in Karkala has begun, various political parties are trying hard to get a candidate.
In the prestigious Karkala Constituency, the Congress is trying hard to bring the Constituency back to its fold. The Congress is currently in a bad shape in a Constituency represented by Former Chief Minister Veerappa Moily several times. The Karkala Constituency, which is held by Energy, Kannada and Culture Minister and BJP’s Top Leader V. Sunil Kumar, is being revived by the Congress in bringing back its past history.
There is no dearth of candidates in the party despite being in a dire situation. More than five candidates have already registered their names with the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). However, this time, there has been a demand for women to be allowed in the Constituency, which has been supported by several organisations belonging to the Christian community.
