Mangaluru: The road leading to Nandavar from B. C. Road was blocked for sometime after a fire broke out beside the railway track near Brahmashri Narayana Guru Circle in B. C. Road and on the opposite side of it.

The road was filled with smoke and the flames were so widespread. Heaps of garbage are lying on both sides of the road and it is being said that someone may have set the garbage on fire, but there is no clear information.

The fire broke out on both sides of the road near B. C. Road main market and railway station, leading to an atmosphere of panic for sometime.

Bantwal Fire Brigade reached the spot and doused the fire by pumping water.

Hundreds of people gathered at the spot and Bantwal City Police Station SI Ramakrishna and his team tried their best to disperse the crowd.
