Mangaluru girl returns with pet cat from Ukraine

Mangaluru: A girl from Mangaluru reached home safetly with her pet cat on Monday March 7. Three days back a Mysuru girl  student Sharanyashree reached home safely with her pet cat.

The girl Lakshita studying in fouth year MBBS in Ukraine is a native of Derlakatte in the City and daughter of  Purushotham. She left for studying four years ago. She reached Bengalur International ai6rport with arrangements made by Ministry of ext6ernal Affairs.

Speaking to mediapersons she said that she adopted a cat from a family in Leesa City in Ukraine ten months ago. When war started we were shifted to a bunker. From there we reached airport in Hungary by walk. I could not leave the cat as it always sits on my lap, she said and added that she did not face any problem travelling back to India.

She said she would be going back to Ukraine once the situation comes to normal to complete her studies. She also met Deputy
Commissioner Dr. K. V. Rajendra on Monday March 7 thanked him for her safe
return.

Last week Lakshitha’s parents had approached the District Administration
for her safe return.
