Mangaluru: Integrated Solid Waste Management Centre launched

Mangaluru: The Integrated Solid Waste Management Centre has been launched by District In-Charge Minister Sunil Kumar. The Centre was inaugurated at the MRF Centre in Tenka Yedapadavu on Thursday January 26.

The Centre has been constructed jointly by Zilla Panchayat, Rural Driinking Water and Sanitation Department, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department and Yeapadavu Gram Panchayat under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) Scheme. Integrated solid waste management is a strategic approach to sustainable management of solid wastes generation, segregation, transfer, sorting, treatment, recovery and disposal in an integrated manner. The emphasis is on maximising resource use efficiency.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty, Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar M. R., Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. B. Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Krishnamurthy, Assistant Commissioner Madan Mohan, GP Deputy Secretary Anand Kumar and public representatives too were present.
