Mangaluru: A lone tusker entered dumbettu surroundings under Mundaje gram panchayat limits late on Saturday night and entered local orchards and destroyed crops . More than 50 banana and arecanut plants have been crushed in the orchards of Sudhakar Gowda, Vishwanath Gowda, Rukmayya Gowda, Jayaprakash Bhat, Krishna Bhat and others.

The lone tusker, which came through Chamundi Nagar and Kaje Nalilu surroundings, broke into the elephant trench near Dumbettu and entered the surroundings through it.
