Mangaluru: A case has been registered at Moodabidri Police Station for allegedly killing a man who asked the driver to drive slowly so that there is no dust spreads over him.
The deceased has been identified as Fayaz (61), a resident of Fort Gate. When Fayaz was on his way to Fortbagal Mosque for namaz on Friday February 3, a tipper driver, Aarees, a resident of Kotebagal, was driving the tipper at high speed and threw dust at Fayaz, who was walking there. With this incident Fayaz ferociously asked him to slow down, during which a verbal spat broke out between the two.
While returning from the namaz, there was a heated exchange of words between the two, when Fayaz went up to the tipper’s step and spoke to him, that is when Fayaz head was hit with a machet and Arees started the tipper and drove it forward. He passed the tipper over him.
Fayaz, who was hit by a rod and fell under the tipper, died while being rushed to a hospital by the public.
The tipper driver, Arees, left the tipper halfway through and fled. The public suspect that Arees had consumed ganja while driving.
The Moodabidri Police has launched a manhunt to trace the driver.
