Mangaluru: Orange alert issued for Karavali Coast on August 8, 9

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain for Bengaluru and 12 other districts of Karnataka for two days starting from Monday.

Mangaluru: The Bay of Bengal low-pressure region is likely to develop into a cyclone during the next three days, informed Indian Meteorological Department. A red alert has been issued for the Karavali Coast, and on August 8 and 9, an orange alert has been issued.

The Joint Director of Fisheries has advised boats to return to shore and not to venture out into the water since it’s likely to be rough.

The districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada experienced good rains on Saturday. It also rained in Puttur, Uppinangady, Kadaba, Subrahmanya, Sullia, Belthangady and other parts of the district.

Parts of Udupi, Brahmavara, Hebri, and Karkala too received heavy rainfall.
