The wetland near the Kolnad bus stand on the National Highway side will be levelled by Saturday April 29 and geared up for the convention. A total of 50 acres of land has been earmarked for hall and parking and 2 lakh people are expected to participate, said BJP spokesperson Ganesh Karnik.

On Wednesday April 26, the heads of the Mumbai-based firm will inspect the site and start work to demolish the German-style pandal. About 300 metre length, ans 100-150 metre-wide pandal will be constructed. Once the itinerary is finalised, the Prime Minister’s Security SPG will inspect the venue of the conference and suggest modifications.

Officials of the Public Works Department (PWD) have examined the construction of a helipad at the site where the Krishi Mela was held in Kolnadu last year. Arrangements have to be made for the induction of 3 helicopters. In the meantime, there is also a plan to use the NMPA helipad as an alternative. It is 16 km from here to the venue. There is a gap, he added.
