Mangaluru: In a shocking incident, a city bus conductor was allegedly assaulted by a Traffic Police Station Assistant Sub Inspector in Talapady of Ullala Taluk in Dakshina Kannada District on Saturday August 13.

The Ullal Police has taken the conductor Raju of the bus named Usha into custody. ASI Albert Lasrado of Jeppu Traffic Police Station was filing cases against City buses near Talapady on Saturday. Meanwhile the conductor was assaulted.

Condemning the act, the bus staff stopped the bus from morning till noon and staged a protest.

A few months ago, ASI Albert Lasrado had created controversy after allegedly imposing a fine for having a sticker of a Hindu deity on a car that was plying under the Thokkottu flyover. And in that incident too the activists of a Hindu organisation, including the owner of the car, staged a protest at Thokkottu Junction demanding the dismissal of the ASI.
