Kasaragod: Manila Sridhama Seer Mohandas Paramahamsa Swamiji inaugurated the district level ‘Krishi Utsav’ at Bayikatte near Paivalike on December 17. The Utsav is jointly organised by Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development project,(SKDRDP) Kumble unit and Bayikatte Paivalike Krishi Utsav committee.
Speaking at the two day fest Dr D Veerendra Heggade said, “People should utilize various plans, schemes introduced by the government, Shri Dharmasthala Gramabhivrudhi Yojane to make themselves self sufficient”
He called upon people to preserve natural resources and shun drugs and liquor for the well being of the society.
On the occasion, a book titled, ‘Govu Mattu Savayava Baduku’ (Cow and Organic Life) written by Professor PN Mudithaya and Souvenir of the event Pingara were released.
Many religious heads, local leaders took part in the Utsav along with experts from agricultural field were among those present on the occasion.
A cattle exhibition was also arranged on the occasion and an interactive session was held which was presided over by CAMPCO chief Suresh Bhandary in the presence of chief guest, Abdul Razak MLA from Kasaragod.
