Mangaluru: A video from the Navarathri festival fair at the renowned Kudroli temple in Mangaluru has raised concerns over the hygiene standards of a local matka soda shop. The viral video captured a vendor washing pots with dirty hands in contaminated water, subsequently using the same pots to serve soda to customers.
This unsanitary practice garnered outrage from consumers and prompted action from local authorities. Following the video’s circulation, officials from the municipal corporation’s health department conducted a raid on the matka soda shop, resulting in the seizure of various items, including the matka soda pot.
In addition to addressing the specific case, health officials also took the opportunity to inspect the overall cleanliness of other stalls at the Kudroli fair. They warned that stalls failing to maintain proper hygiene standards would face similar consequences, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of festivalgoers.
