Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Bhaskar K Moily inaugurated newly constructed entrance Arch for Nehru Maidan on Tuesday, August 14. The Arch has been constructed at a cost of Rs 21 lakhs.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Bhaskar K Moily talked about the history of the Nehru Maidan. “This ground is re-named after the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru after he visited Manglauru and delivered his speech here,” he recalled.
The construction of the arch was taken up during the tenure of former Mayor Kavitha Sanil.
