Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner has warned Antony Solid Waste Handling Cell Pvt Ltd, to stop its employees from going on strike frequently, if not the MCC would cancel the contract with the company.
MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazir warned the company after the opposition leader, Premananda Shetty raised the issue that since the employees of Solid Waste Management company go on frequent strikes, the MCC is getting a bad name owing to non-collection of the garbage and solid waste in the city.
Speaking at MCC general meeting, Nazir said, “A legal notice has been served to the company since its employees go on strikes without collecting solid waste from the city.”
He also informed that if employees restore strike, the MCC has made alternate arrangments and it will terminate the tender contract with the company.
