Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has warned that serious action will be taken against those who have obtained water connections illegally. Violators have been given a week’s time to obtain a legal connection.

In a press release, the MCC informed that some residents have obtained water connections illegally and that some others have not cleared their water bills for a long time. There have even been instances where the arrears have exceeded Rs 25,000, due to which, the MCC’s development works have been hampered.

The press release also stated that a team of engineers has been formed to visit the houses and seek water connection documents. The people have been requested to furnish the documents to the team, proving that their water connection is legal. If the documents are not produced and the water bills have not been paid even after a week, the MCC will take necessary action, the press release warned.
