Mangaluru: Mangaluru has established itself as an educational hub in the country and undoubedtly students from across the country look forward to coming to the city to pursue thier education.
The high influx of students trying to get a seat at these reputed institutions has given miscreants a chance to dupe gullible parents, students of money by assuring them to get a seat in these colleges.
In a similar instance Kamal Singh Raj Purohith, a native of Delhi and Mahender, a native of Rajasthan parents of two students desirious of pursuing medicine from a reputed institue were given an assurance of arranging seats for their children by a group of persons, who posed as staff of the institue by showing fake identity cards and collected demamd drafts of Rs 5,40,000 from them.
Acting on the complaint lodged by Kamal and Mahender the Kadri police sucessfully busted the fraud and arrested 10 persons.
The arrested are identified as Ajay Nayak Mukherjee(41) from North Kolkatta, West Bengal, Saurab Gupta (32) from Lucknow, Anoop Singh(35) from Goa, Amith Ranjan(25) from Bihar, Swapan Biswas(54) from West Bengal, Rajiva Kumar(30) from Hyderbad, Anil Tulkiram(62) from Kolkatta, Manish Kumar Sha (300 from Jharkhand and Sanjay kumar Mahatoor(26) from Jharkhand.
The police also seized Rs 10 lakhs in cash, demand drafts, 20 mobile phones, two laptops, fake identity cards, stamp seals valuing around Rs 31 lakhs from their possesion
